Seventeen Weber State University students participated in the Future Business Leaders of America–Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Competition on March 7-8 at the Davis Conference Center. Students competed in a variety of events against other colleges and universities in the state for a chance to represent Utah at the National Leadership Competition.

First- and second-place winners at the state level have the opportunity to represent WSU and the state of Utah in Nashville, Tenn., to compete at the National Leadership Competition June 23-27.

The mission of FBLA-PBL is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

“Weber State has a long-standing chapter of PBL, and students have been successful in fulfilling the values of the organization,” said adviser Angela Christensen. “We are proud of what the students have done, and are excited for them to represent Weber State at the national competition.”

FBLA-PBL is a nonprofit education association of a quarter million middle school, high school and college students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields, as well as the Professional Division for Businesspeople, FBLA-PBL alumni, educators and parents who support the goals of the association.
