Hot summer days and long summer nights have arrived, so the question is, what kind of adventure is calling your name? Many students dream of going on a lavish vacation, but most of us can’t afford it.
In light of being a poor college student myself, I thought of some enjoyable and inexpensive staycations students might want to check out.
Start out by writing down things you haven’t checked out in your area. Maybe this list contains a restaurant, local swim hole or even an amusement park.
Lagoon, located in Farmington, offers fun for everyone. With the large variety of rides and games, students can be entertained for an entire day. A single day pass costs $47.95.
Looking to dip your feet in the water? Located up the Ogden Canyon is Pineview Reservoir, and students have a variety of waterside locations to choose from. Both The Point and Middle Inlet are two of the more popular locations.
All you need is some great friends, a swimming suit and some sunblock and you are ready for a fun-filled day at Pineview.
Want to get out of Ogden for the day without having to travel too far? Bear Lake is just a little over an hour away and offers quaint restaurants, an amazing lake and fun shops you can explore.
Bear Lake is famous for their delicious raspberry shakes and the tale of Bear Lake’s monster. If you are looking to stay the night, check out the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) locations around the lake. The KOA offers tent sites as well as cabins. Tent sites range from $30.89 – $35.89. Cabin prices range from $53.89 – $102.89.
This one’s for the ladies! Take a day and treat yourself like a queen. Bring a group of friends and spend the day pampering yourselves.
This gives you a chance to catch up on some gossip with friends and see how they’re doing while taking a day off from your hectic schedule. You can stay in, paint nails and even do facial masks.
We all know how easy it is to get hooked on a TV show. You tell yourself you will only watch one episode, and five hours later you’ve watched half the season.
Since most of us already enjoy Netflix, why not make it a part of your staycation? Invite some friends over to your place, queue up a favorite TV show and enjoy the entertainment.
There are numerous ways to keep a staycation fun and adventurous. You may not be leaving town, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pretend to be a tourist or simply take a few relaxing days to yourself.
