Top five new uses for ordinary items

As college students we are often on a tight budget. If you are looking for ways to pinch pennies you have come to the right place, because there are things all of us have lying around that can be used for something completely new.

Turn it up!

If you are with a group of friends, listening to music on your phone or iPod can be a struggle. Often the sound is too soft and it can be hard to hear the song.

Do you have a bowl sitting around? Most of us do. Place your phone in the bowl and push play on the song, you will quickly notice that the music has been amplified and it is much easier to hear.

Well that’s the last of the conditioner . . .

Have you ever been in the shower and realized you’re out of conditioner?

Head to the laundry room where more than likely there will be fabric softener. Dilute the fabric softener and you have yourself some leave in conditioner. Problem solved, and you didn’t have to spend a penny.

Need to get rid of a water mark?

Did the party last night get a little out of hand? Not only is your place messy but there are water marks from glasses on your coffee table, night stands and dining table.

If you are living in the dorms, that furniture more than likely belongs to the university, and you can’t ruin their furniture.

Here is an easy and inexpensive way to remove those annoying water marks. Take some mayonnaise and smear it onto the water marks, leave it on there for a while and it should take out the water marks with ease.

Get wrinkles out quickly!

If you are running late for a class or a hot date and need to remove the wrinkles from your favorite shirt, we have a solution for you!

With little time you can’t always throw the wrinkly clothing item back in the dryer. To solve this issue, mix half fabric softener and half vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray this on your clothes and the wrinkles should disappear as if it were magic.

Is your car looking a bit dirty?

If you are anything like me, your car accumulates a lot of trash. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a trash can in your car?

A plastic cereal container makes a great trash can. Place a small garbage bag or a plastic bag inside for ease of throwing trash away. This is a quick and inexpensive way to keep your car clean and organized when you don’t always have the time to go to the car wash.

With these easy and inexpensive uses for ordinary items you can save money without compromising your needs as a college student.
