The Environmental Ambassadors is a student sustainability leadership program that seeks to shift campus culture toward sustainable behaviors through education, outreach and activities. The program offers student members the opportunity to gain skills in leadership, public speaking, education and project/program management.
Started in 2012, the Environmental Ambassadors have grown into a well-recognized group on campus. The program is also registered with the Office of Campus Community Engaged Learning (CCEL), so all of your volunteer hours with the group will be recorded and accounted for through WeberSync.
To kick off the 2014-15 school year, the Environmental Ambassadors will be hosting a free barbecue at Beus Pond Park, an overnight retreat and an orientation to get members educated and acquainted with WSU’s sustainability goals.
As a member of the Environmental Ambassadors you will have the opportunity to attend conferences such as the Intermountain Bioneers and the Intermountain Sustainability Summit for free. You will also have the chance to participate in other fun activities throughout the academic year such as tree plantings, Green the Stadium, Green Move In/Out, RecycleMania and Campus Conservation Nationals.
Have fun, meet new people and make a difference! To get involved or learn more go to weber.edu/sustainability or contact Hannah Rice at [email protected]. You can also “like” the Weber State Sustainability Office Facebook page for updates on events at www.facebook.com/weberstatesustainability.
