Religious and spiritual life on campus

Religion is important to many students. Here is a list of religious clubs and services on or near Weber State University.

  1. The Latter-Day Saint Student Association (LDSSA). Through the Ogden LDS Institute of Religion, the LDS church provides classes and activities. Classes are offered throughout the day and meet on either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday basis. The institute is located on Edvalson Street next to the Public Safety building.
  2. The Newman Catholic Center is located north of campus at 3738 Custer Avenue. According to their website, the center empowers catholics to develop their faith while being a strong witness to God. Mass is held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30 p.m.; Sundays at 6 and 7 p.m.; and Saturdays at 6 p.m.
  3. The Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, the Weber State chapter of a national college program of interdenominational Christians, has not yet finalized meeting times for this year. Call Mac Smith at 801-920-8818 for more information.
  4. Islamic groups. There are currently no Muslim student groups registered on campus, however there is a mosque in Ogden. The Northern Utah Islamic Center is located at 1061 23rd St. in Ogden. Friday khutbah is held there from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Call 801-392-1515 for more information.
