Hello, newcomers! Welcome to Weber State University. As a friendly gesture, we’d like to let you in on a little secret.

This secret will save you the valuable years it took some of our alumni to learn – because we all know the typical college student has no time to waste. Brace yourself, here it comes.

The Signpost is well worth reading.

Okay, okay, I’ll admit that may seem a tad biased, but it’s the absolute truth.

Who else will keep you updated, not just about campus and local events, but also worldwide and international news? We cover all the bases, except maybe some peer gossip, but hey, that’s what your new dorm buddies are for!

Alrighty, so a few of you skeptics out there still need a little more convincing. Not to worry – we’ve got that covered too. Here are five reasons to read The Signpost:

1)      We care about you, our readers, because without you, we are nothing. Naturally, we want your opinion! On our social media sites (Follow us! Like us!), we ask you to tell us what you’d like to see. This way, we can put out a paper catered to you. In an effort to keep you reading, we even worked to put this list together. Hard work, I tell you.

2)      The sports, news, science and technology, art, opinion and features sections here put themselves out on a limb every day to gather the coolest, freshest news just for you. Countless hours of brainstorming, interviewing, revising and planning go into every issue.

3)      Not to brag or anything (see, when I say that, you know the bragging’s about to begin), but we have some fabulous graphics going on over here. Have you seen the stuff our artists produce? Even if you’re not much of a reader, the art on this paper will convince you that it’s worth looking at.

4)      As mentioned before, every valuable minute of your time should be well spent. So while you’re waiting for the bus or standing in line at that great coffee shop around the corner, pull out a copy of “The Signpost” and enjoy your multi-weekly dose of news. If it’s more convenient to you, check us out online! Which leads to the next point…

5)      Our website, www.wsusignpost.com is all-new and top-notch, thanks to our amazing webmaster. Modern, easy to navigate and with just the right amount of flair, it’s just as nice as our printed copies.

It’s no trouble to pick us up – copies are distributed in buildings all over campus, so trust this great logic and become one of those beloved readers we adore.
