Winter is coming, and the best part about bundling up is rockin’ boots. This season there are three boots you must have in your winter wardrobe.

Riding Boots: If you only buy one pair this is the one to go for. A riding boot is usually flat or has a small heel, goes to an inch or two below the knee and has buckles and hardware. This boot comes in a wide range of colors, but looks best in a brown shade because it shows off the buckles better. These are simple to pair with your winter wear, and are easy and comfortable.

Combat Boots: This boot style has been around for a while, but it’s still going strong. Combat boots are also usually flat or have a small heel. They go three to four inches above your ankle, and lace up. These also come in untitled (4 of 17)many colors, but a classic black pair or dark brown looks best. Combat boots go with so many different styles and are a simple solution to edge out your look.

High Heel Bootie: This is the perfect  substitute for heels this season. A high heel bootie, like the name implies, has a heel, but is available in different heights from three to six inches. They are low cut around your ankle, and come in many colors or prints. Look for a pair that are more formal with nice detailing like buttons or hardware. These look great with tights and can be your go-to shoe for holiday parties.

I went to the Newgate Mall to see what deals I could find for boots.

1318: This store is doing a buy one, get one free deal. The only shoes that don’t apply are on the clearance wall. Besides those, all of their shoes are up for grabs as your free one.

The average price is $50, but, including a free pair, that’s only $25 dollars a pair.

Forever Young: They do buy one, get one half off, and, on select shoes, buy one, get one free. They have classic styles and more fashion-forward looks than other stores.

    Average price $39.99

Famous Footwear: All their boots are sold at sales prices and are high quality.

    Average price: $59.99

Payless Shoes: They’re doing 20 percent off on top of sales prices.

    Average price: $39.99

Burlington Coat Factory: Their boots are already highly discounted. You might need a little thrift store luck, but you could find a great pair for an excellent price

    Average price: $29.99
