Women’s tennis wins third straight conference match

The WSU women’s tennis team improved to 6-2 in conference play on Saturday as they defeated University of North Dakota for their third consecutive conference win.

The Wildcats dominated in doubles play as they swept all three matches to earn the doubles point. In singles play, the Wildcats continued to keep up the pressure as they swept the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 matches and won the No. 4 match in three sets to give them the 6-1 final score.

Freshman Romy Dodd-Stephens continued her recent hot streak as she teamed up with fellow freshman Dominique Beauvais in the No. 2 doubles match for their fifth straight doubles win. Dodd-Stephens then went on to pick up her sixth straight singles win with a three-set victory over freshman Mimi Yunker in the No. 4 singles match.

The Wildcats are sitting in fourth place in the Big Sky Conference as they finish up their season on the road for their last three games. They will play Sacramento State, Montana and Montana State this week before the Big Sky Conference tournament next weekend.
