  1. Millions of bees turned loose after truck overturns on interstate

A semi-truck carrying millions of honey bees overturned on a Washington interstate Friday, inadvertently releasing the insects into the wild.

While the driver claims he overturned after a tire blew out, officials on the scene say he may have been driving too fast. The semi was carrying 428 individual hives, meaning around 14 million bees were released as officials scrambled to save as many as they could.

  1. Eighth-grader charged with ‘cybercrimes’ for changing teacher’s desktop wallpaper

Fortunately, the hardened criminal has been caught.

Eighth-grader Domanik Green, 14, of Paul R. Smith Middle School in Holiday, Florida, used an administrator’s password to log into a school computer, changing the background to a picture of two men kissing.

Though Green didn’t access any sensitive files, he was still arrested, formally charged and released last Wednesday from a detention facility.

  1. Woman removed from plane for poking snoring passenger with pen

After poking her seatmates to keep them from snoring, a woman on a flight out of Chicago’s Midway Airport was removed from the plane.

The plane took off for Boston without her shortly thereafter. Airport officials said the woman would be accommodated on another flight.

It’s good we take such a hard stand against terrorism.

  1. Gwyneth Paltrow fails the food-stamp challenge four days in

The challenge is relatively simple: survive on $29 a week for food, the average amount impoverished individuals receive from food stamps.

After four days, actress Gwyneth Paltrow failed the challenge after an honest attempt. She later blogged on how formidable living on food stamps actually is.

Her original $29 purchase included eggs, black beans, rice and various fruits and vegetables, including seven limes.

  1. Tulsa Roommates Stab Each Other Over Debate Between iPhone & Android

It has finally come to this.

The eternal debate between iPhone and Android almost claimed two men’s lives early Friday morning in an Oklahoma apartment complex. An alcohol-fueled debate between two roommates over which phone is better erupted in a knife fight.

Both men were rushed to the hospital after they were discovered.
