For whatever reason, certain local stores speak to us in different ways. Whether it’s the unique ambiances, off-beat vibes or the friendly people, every place has a personality.

For the Ogden Community, Only in Ogden Store and Gallery is one of those places.

However, with several years of history in the community, the store will be celebrating its final days in Ogden with its closing Goodbye Sunday-Funday event on April 26.

Up until that point, Only in Ogden has hosted several events for the local community.  From poetry readings to live music performances, the store is primarily known for it’s locally made gifts and products that celebrate Ogden’s history.

Nestled in an old building on the beaten path of Washington and 23rd street, Only in Ogden is anything but small. Fully equipped with a gift shop, art gallery and event space, the store is only 6,000 square feet, but the organization’s presence has spread throughout the community in the short space of six years.

With roots dating back to 2009, Only in Ogden is a community-supporting organization that promotes several events at the local level. Bringing music, art and performances to the community, Only in Ogden was the first store to sell merchandise custom-specific to the city, according to the KSL website.

The humble store has formed strong community ties throughout the years and has grown a media presence on popular social cites like Facebook and Instagram to showcase what is happening in Ogden.

According to his biography, the creator of Only in Ogden, Bryan Smith, fell in love with Utah and in a short time became a “familiar face in Ogden.” His passion for the Ogden area led him to initiate the Only in Ogden organization to keep the community up to date with everything that was happening in the city.

From there, Smith has had a hand in supporting artistic, cultural and athletic events in the local area. 

According to the Only in Ogden Facebook page, the organization will still remain a big part of the community, even after its official closing date on April 30. Anyone is welcome to attend their Sunday-Funday  event on April 26 to help support the store’s final event in Ogden.
