The 2015 Weber State University football players are this week’s Signpost Student Athletes of the Week for their combined efforts during the 2015 football season.

The team finished with a 6-5 record, the most wins from the team since the 2010 season, and the equivalent of the past three season’s wins combined. Notable moments from this season included an overtime victory on the road in Missoula, Mt, a feat that the team has not achieved since the 1987 season. They finished the season with a dominant win against conference rivals Idaho State at home with a score of 35-14.

The team has 10 different players that received all-conference honors, with center Joe Hawkins leading the pack with the schools only first team honor. The end of this season also marks the end of the college football career of the 11 senior members of the team.

“This team accomplished what they set out to do and finished with a winning record,” Head Coach Jay Hill said, during a press conference after the game against Idaho State. “We are sad to be losing the players we are losing, and they have left big shoes to fill. But this team will continue to get better with time.”
