Our football team hasn’t won a game yet this season, but that doesn’t mean we should stop cheering and getting excited for the games. Especially for the big homecoming football game on Oct. 11.

What better way is there to get excited for the big game than to listen to some tunes that will bring out that energy and excitement? Here are five songs to get your energy levels rising and your Wildcat spirit moving.

1. “Levels” by Avicii

If you’ve never heard of Avicii, you are seriously missing out. Recently, Avicii has put out some of the best dance jams. “Levels,” I would have to say is the best song from him. There is so much energy in this song that it takes fist pumping to a whole new level. It is the kind of tune where you just can’t help but cut loose and have a good time. It’ll get you ready to cheer on our team.

2. “Thunderstruck” by ACDC

The beginning of this song, with the electric guitar and “ah’s,” is right on point. It’s the perfect intro to the song. “Thunderstruck” is filled with this sense of anticipation, which is the kind of feeling that many of us get before a big game. I remember going to every high school football game and hearing this song played loudly over the speakers. It was a crowd pleaser then and still is today. There is so much hype in this song that you won’t be able to stop from getting excited for the game.

3. “We Own It” (Fast & Furious) by 2 Chainz & Wiz Khalifa

This song was featured on the latest installment of the “Fast & Furious” films. It’s not just a great choice of song for car racing, it’s also perfect for getting energized for the game. “One shot, everything rides on tonight” is definitely my favorite line in the song. The title of the song, “We Own It,” pretty much says it all. We as Wildcats should all have this mindset going into the game.

4. “Born to Rage” (USA Version) by Dada Life

Just like the title says, we are “Born to Rage.” We were also born to be Wildcats. If you are having a hard time unleashing that inner Wildcat, there’s no doubt that this song will help. Listen to it once and I promise you won’t be able to stop dancing. This song seems to have the same sound and beat throughout, but it doesn’t get old. I’ve listened to this song about seven times in a row and you could definitely say I’m pumped. I feel like I need to go clubbing now or even better, go watch our football team play.

5. “Jungle” (Remix) featuring Jay-Z by X Ambassadors & Jamie N Commons

Every time I hear this, I can’t help but think of the song “We Will Rock You” by Queen. They have many similarities. “We Will Rock You” is obviously a classic, but “Jungle” brings a lot of good things to the table. One of those things is how it makes you feel like you’re ready to go into battle. In this case, it would be a battle on the field. The original version of this song is pretty good, but this remix with Jay-Z is unreal. Any alternative song that has a little hip hop flare added to it usually makes for a good remix. I highly recommend listening to this before the big game.

All five of these songs give off their own kind of energy. All of them will get you excited and ready to cheer for our football team. It is our duty to bring energy to the games. So let’s bring it!
