The Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo, which is held annually over the week of July 24, is one of the biggest and best statehood events in Utah.

The Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum located in Ogden honors those cowboys and cowgirls who have made great strides in the sporting world of rodeo by inducting members into its Hall of Fame, and on Friday six, new members were inducted.

Rodeo legends Tanya Bartlett, Gary L. Cooper, Bud Favero, Jack A. Hannum, Dean Steed and Francisco Zamora were honored at the event, which drew a crowd of several hundred at the Union Station in Ogden.

“I think it’s a great event. It’s awesome to come watch some great men and women be honored,” said Scott Stephens of Syracuse. “I try to come to as many events for the Pioneer Days celebration as I can.”

Favero, who was a lifelong resident of Weber County, was a member of the Weber County Sheriff’s Posse for more than 52 years and was involved in establishing the Junior Posse program in Weber County.

“Bud did a lot for the Ogden community. Without his expertise of growing up on a ranch, the Junior Posse program probably wouldn’t exist,” said Neil Stone of Ogden. “This is a memorable event for all.”
