WSU soccer midfielder Mackenzie Peck is this week’s Signpost Student-Athlete of the Week after scoring the 13th goal of her career in her final game with the Wildcats.

With 13 career goals, Peck is number 10 on the Wildcats’ career goals list.

“It’s hard. I’ve definitely been having a hard time with it,” Peck said. “I’ve loved every minute of it so it’s been great.”

Peck scored early in the second half of the Wildcats’ 2-1 loss to Idaho State last week off a pass from teammate Stacy Bair. The goal was Peck’s fifth of the season, tying her with Bair for the team lead in goals.

“I feel that overall we did good, even though our record shows that we didn’t do so well,” Peck said. “But we kept going and we just kept fighting.”

Peck finishes her career having played in 66 games, recording 13 goals, two assists and 28 points. Peck said that she plans on graduating next year with a degree in zoology. Despite her soccer career at Weber State being over, Peck said that she’s not done playing sports yet.

“I’m trying to see if I can walk on for basketball at Weber State for one year since I didn’t have a medical hardship or I didn’t redshirt at all,” Peck said. “So I want to try and walk on for my fifth year and then I actually want to try out for the women’s Real soccer team. I just can’t stop.”
