Spring break is around the corner and students all over the county are looking for a place to relax and recharge for the last half of the semester. However, deciding where to go can be burdensome, especially when planning a trip outside of the U.S.

If you are planing to go to a foreign country, your southern neighbor Mexico is a great location.

Mexico has stunning vacation spots that are well-known all around the globe. There are three spots in particular you don’t want to miss.

Cancun

Cancun is a very popular spot for spring break because of its beaches, weather and ambiance. According to a USA Today article, you can look for student tour packages to save some money.

USA Today mentions that one of the best beaches in Cancun is Playa Tortugas, which offers open-air restaurants and rafting rentals. The water of the beaches is clear, and the sand is as soft as if you were walking on flour. If you are the kind of person that prefers to stay out of the sea, there are also many activities outside the water that you can enjoy as well.

One of them is visiting Xplor park in the Riviera Maya. Xplor park offers a subterranean adventure with its stalactite rivers and remarkable rock formations. There are zip-lanes and underground rafts that people can participate in.

Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is a very special destination due to its variety and contrasts, according to its official website.

Puerto Vallarta presents different types of beaches, with opportunities to have fun, relax and recreate. This touristic spot is surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains, and most of the activities and sights are linked to ecotourism.

The article from USA Today “Top Places to Go in Mexico for Spring Break,” indicates that the most popular beach to visit in Puerto Vallarta is Playa Los Muertos or Dead Man’s Beach, which provides the opportunity to participate in activities such as jet skiing and windsurfing.

Tucked away in a small town, it is brimming with tradition, and at the same time offers a vibrant nightlife.

Acapulco

Acapulco’s principal attraction is the beach. One of the best beaches to go to is called Playa Icacos, which is not as crowded as other beaches and offers activities such as sailing, motor boating, parasailing and water skiing.

Another popular beach in the area is called Barra Vieja, which is an hour away from Acapulco. Tourist can enjoy horseback riding and excellent food. In Barra Vieja there is a restaurant called Beto Godoy, which allows customers to choose the fish they want to eat (while the fish is alive). This restaurant is located at the shore of the beach, making the experience of eating there unforgettable.

Acapulco is not only popular internationally but also nationally. Many Mexican citizens enjoy this particular spot located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

One of the best things about Acapulco is its price. Compared to Cancun, Acapulco is relatively inexpensive, making it more accessible to the public.

There are dozens of incredible places students could go for spring break, but when in doubt, just go to Mexico. It has a lot of scenic tourist destinations.
